At E3 today Konami showed the first trailer of its next Silent Hill game, with the working title of Silent Hill 8.
The game is scheduled to launch in 2011 on the PS3 and Xbox 360, and promises to be "a next generation horror game that fans truly deserve," according to a statement released today by Konami.

Among the features you'll enjoy by subscribing to Plus are early access to demos, invites to select game betas, discounts on certain PlayStation Store content, and automatic downloads of content like patches and firmware that will be pushed to your system. And for as long as you subscribe to Plus, you'll get free access to several games: Wipeout HD, a trial of Infamous, PlayStation Minis Fieldrunners and Age of Zombies, and the PS1 Classic Rally Cross. Other perks were also promised for subscribers, but that's all that was detailed during the press conference.
PlayStation Plus will be available later this month.

Well, it’s official. Today during its E3 keynote, Microsoft took the wraps off the latest and greatest version of the Xbox 360. Described as being “sleeker, smaller, whisper quiet,” the new 360 has a 250GB HDD, built-in Wi-Fi n, and a super sexy $299 price tag. It begins shipping today. Excited?

An advertisement for an unannounced redesigned Xbox 360 has appeared online, according to reports. The ad also acknowledges that the final name of Project Natal will be Kinect.
Several websites and forums are reporting that the advertisement seen above appeared earlier today on the Italian website Console Tribe. We're unable to verify the legitimacy of the advertisement at press time (as it appears to have been removed from the site), but given the frequency of report we're seeing, this seems legitimate.

First up for rerelease are the original Sonic Adventure and Crazy Taxi. No official announcements have been made regarding further Dreamcast titles, but earlier leaks pointed to Jet Grind Radio and Shenmue II also getting the XBLA/PSN treatment.
These aren't just simple ports, either. Sega's upped the resolution across the board, along with adding online leaderboards, Achievements/Trophies, and support for surround sound.

The live-action Mortal Kombat trailer (above) was the director's pitch to Warner Bros. on how he would like to reboot the franchise -- but how did he actually make it? A Collider interview with director Kevin Tancharoen sheds some light on the motivations, methods, and how at least one person involved in the short is already officially signed on for the next feature film.
You might not know Tancharoen's name, and he seems like the last person to direct a dark Mortal Kombat film. His previous credits include dancing in You Got Served, directing music specials for Britney Spears and the Pussycat Dolls, and the feature film Fame in 2009. "It got to a point where we just kept talking about it," he said, "and I just had to do it. It took over a two-month span of time. I shot this whole thing in two days on two Red cameras that were donated to me with a group of friends who all believed in the cause." He says all the shooting took place in April, but the post and editing alone took two months, and effects specialists donated their time.
