Inafune-Directed Dead Rising Movie Coming to U.S.

After a little over two decades working on game franchises like Mega Man and Dead Rising, Capcom's Keiji Inafune is trying his hand at filmmaking. The company has announced that Zombrex Dead Rising Sun -- the first live-action movie ever written and directed by Inafune -- will be released in the U.S. as a series of free downloads over the summer.

The film is set in modern-day Japan during a zombie outbreak. It stars a young man and his wheelchair-bound brother, who encounter a lot more than just the undead in their attempt to escape the carnage.

In case you're wondering how much the movie has to do with the games, a scene from the trailer shows one of the brothers wielding a chainsaw while riding some sort of improvised, blade-covered death cart. So yeah, it looks like a pretty faithful recreation of the absurd zombie slaying the Dead Rising games are known for.
