Dead Rising can already be played on the Xbox 360 and Wii, and pretty soon it will be available on the iPod as well.
IGN has posted impressions of the upcoming port, which stars Frank West in his attempt to hold out against the zombie hordes in Willamette Mall. The gameplay will once again revolve around beating down zombies with anything that comes to hand, including bowling balls and toy swords, but the controls have naturally been simplified.
One feature unique to the iPhone version is a makes it possible for friends on Facebook and Twitter to remotely revive a fallen Frank. Dead players can send out rescue calls, after which a friend has a limited amount of time to log on to the Dead Rising app and respond. A successful rescue will mean not losing any PP, though it's still possible to respawn normally.
